Israel and the "Peace Activist" Flotilla

Not surprisingly, Israel's "raid" on the "peace" flotilla heading for Gaza in the early morning of May 31, 2010, which ended with nine activists killed and dozens wounded, has sparked outrage and harsh condemnations from the international community.  The incident has been described as an Israeli "crime" and "massacre" of peaceful humanitarian workers who only wished to relieve the suffering of the people of Gaza.

The reality, however, is very different.  Israel offered that the fleet dock at the Israeli port of Ashdod, where its merchandise would be screened and then transferred to Gaza.  Israel must do this because it is well known that anti-Israel regimes such as Iran try to smuggle arms to the Hamas terrorits entity in Gaza, which are then used against civilian Israeli populations.  Israel's offer was flatly denied, and soldiers were lowered onto the ships for inspection.  They were greeted by a violent mob on the Marmara that proceeded to attack the soldiers with clubs, metal bars, knives and other weapons.  The Israeli soldiers had no other choice but to defend themselves to save their lives.

We bring here some videos of the clash on the Mavi Marmara.  The objective and impartial viewer can decide for himself who was the violent aggressor in this sad incident.
